this is a lightning counter that can communicate with the pc via rs-232
but a pc is not important. the output can be used to drive a siren/ led buzzer etc

i have a friend in George a german chap, he is into thunder and weather stuff, uses 3d mapping in realtime and u can see all thunder activity in your area or any particular area in general, it shows the clusters and intesity, i use it to get my timing right for lowband dxing :D

He's system is far more advanced than i have seen or heard of, i must say i was impressed, there are so many functions to explore on that system, but me , i know nothing about it.. :mrgreen:

i am trying to think of his callsign, i think zs2stc, not sure, i visited him once, incredible setup in static and thunder station.
he's not active and is moving up the street, i bought some goodies from him.
will see if i can get hold of him, he had plenty goodies for sale.
